Riley and Ethan-

We stayed at my parent's house last weekend and Riley and her cousin, Ethan, had a blast together as usual. Ethan calls her "Rawly". When we take them places people think they are twins. It's funny to watch them play together. They teach each other all sorts of things. One time, Riley even tried to pee outside because Ethan showed her how. Well, it worked out a lot better for him than it did for her. That's all I'm going to say!

A Fairy Princess or A Pirate?

These are the two costumes I brought home for Riley to choose between. She has been telling me she wants to be "a butterfly princess" for Halloween for about a month now, so I found this cute fairy costume. But then I found Luke the cutest Pirate costume and they had a girl Pirate too. So I figured I'd just give it a try and show her the pirate costume and the fairy... (Not that the fairy isn't cute but it looks just like her dress up princess clothes she can wear any day) And...She chose the pirate over the fairy and is so excited that her and "Wuki" are going to be "Pyatts" together. (But she informed me that she is a nice pirate not a mean one.)

Riley first day of dance this year

Riley is so excited to start dance again this year. (Especially since Grammy will be her teacher this year!)

The Parade

I had never been to the 2 1/2 hour Peach Day Parade before. Wow! By the end we had tennis balls, frisbees, necklaces, and way too much candy. The kids were in heaven.

Little Lukey

"He's a ball of fire!"
"He's got the devil dancin' in his eyes!"
"He is so full of life!"

These are some of the many comments I hear about Luke all the time. He is the funniest little boy I've ever seen. I love Luke at this age. He has started expressing himself and says the funniest things. Last night when he was saying his prayers he said "thank you for my family" like I told him too and then he threw in, "and my binky!" He keeps us laughing all day long.

IT'S FALL

As sad as it is to see summer go, I love fall. I am especially excited this year! Maybe it's because I bought a lot of decorations on clearance last year and have been waiting to put them up. Or because I'm so glad we didn't move back to Arizona after all because Fall there is just like summer -- you never feel the change of season and it's really sad. I'm excited because Riley is having so much fun watching for the colored leaves and because Mantua and Sardine Canyon are the prettiest places ever in the fall. Also, being able to bearably be outside is so nice for our bike rides and walks. And I've already made and eaten a whole batch of Pumpkin Cookies--my favorite! Anyway, Fall is great!

RILEY'S FIRST DAY OF PRESCHOOL

Tuesday was Riley's first day of Preschool. She was a little bit nervous, but more excited than anything. She didn't even cry when I dropped her off. I was the one who almost cried. Almost... until I realized just how much you can get done in 2 hours with only one kid. Now with a clean house, a clean car and lots of errands taken care of, I'm not too sad about this preschool stuff. She has the cutest little class and she loves her teachers. And her friend, Porter, is in the same class. They have a lot of fun together. Yay for Preschool!

This is Porter and Riley on the first day. They are the best of friends and love being in the same class. I heard their moms like the carpooling part too. :)

Riley's 2nd Day of Preschool

I know, I'm a little obsessive and this pic didn't even turn out very well... She just looks so cute when she gets all ready for preschool.

Last Summer Day at Bear Lake

We spent Labor Day weekend at Bear Lake "camping" at Bluewater Beach with Trev's family. I can kind of call it camping because we did at least sleep in a tent. We had a great weekend and got to go see my family too. We spent lots of time at the beach and Trev practically had to drag me away the last day. I hate leaving Bear Lake on our last summer trip. I'm really glad we live close enough again to go as much as we did this past summer.

Last Day on the Boat

This was our last day on the boat this summer. The water was so rocky, we couldn't even go wake boarding. Luke fell asleep instantly (go figure), but Riley enjoyed it. Trev had a great time tubing.

Bluewater Beach Toys

Riley and Luke and their cousins had so much fun on the blow up toys at Bluewater Beach all weekend.

Herding Sheep

When we were at my parents house, my uncle was herding sheep outside. So, Riley and her cousin Tayler went and got fly swatters and ran outside to help. I wish you could see them better in the pic. It was really funny.

The Dragon Wagon at the Fair

Riley and Luke loved the rides at the fair except Luke hated the Dragon Wagon. Sure he's smiling now, but once it started he was clinging to the side and his face was so scared. Everyone laughed, but I felt really bad. It was a bit too fast and scary for a two year old. Whoops!

Luke's Hives

After getting home from the pool and taking his nap, Luke woke up with hives all over him and he was so itchy until the Benadryl kicked in. It was so sad and he's still on medication for whatever was in the water that day. I don't even want to know...

Almost Asleep in the Pool

Luke is so funny. He requires SO much sleep! He cannot stay awake past 2:00 on any day and he usually takes a 3-4 hour nap and is still tired by 8 or 9pm. (I think he's related to Trevor and Chase.) At the pool he was almost asleep on his floaty out in the water.

Last Day at the Pool

We had so much fun going to the Brigham City pool this summer (minus getting Cryptosporidium and Luke getting hives that still haven't completely gone away) This was our last day there...

RIley and Luke taking a nap

One day I was really sick and Trev took this picture to show me how he got the kids to sleep so I could sleep...

Luke's2nd B-day

Luke had a great 2nd B-day on Aug. 19th. He got to open presents when he woke up, and then we went to church and didn't even make him go to nursery that day. He got to stay with us (Yay for us) Then we had a B-day party with our families at the park and he couldn't have had more fun. He had all his grandparents there and lots of aunts and uncles and cousins. It was a good day. I can't believe he's a 2 year old. That's the saddest part. But he's so much fun at this stage as well as so much trouble. He is the life of the party wherever he goes and has the funniest sense of humor. We love our Lukey!

Eating B-day Cake--Riley's Favorite Part

Luke's Train Cake

So I'm not a pro cake decorator, but Luke doesn't know that

Blowing Huge Bubbles

The Pinata

The Pinata took forever to break due to my cheap plastic bat, but that just made the fun last longer... More details on Chelsea's blog...

Luke's B-day Party at the Park

We had a fun party at the park that night with cake and ice cream, water balloon games, bubbles, a pinata, and lots of family. Luke had a great time!

Happy Birthday Boy!

Leapfrog Toy

Luke got this Leapfrog toy that says his name and everything. It's great!

Luke on the Zipline at Gymnastics

Riley and Luke took a mom and tot Gymnastics class with me this summer. They loved it! Luke's favorites were the tramps and foam pit so it got kind of hard to keep him interested in the bars for the first half of class, but he loved doing anything involving climbing, throwing, or rolling. (Typical Boy.) Riley loved everything and is going to take the 4 year old class starting next month. On the last day of class, the teacher let them do the zipline across the gym. They were the only 2 kids in their class who dared do it. They did it over and over (Thanks to Jade's help who was working there at the time) It's so funny to see these pics of their little legs dangling down.
