SkIiNg!

Last weekend we took the kids skiing at Beaver for their very first time. We went with my sister Julie, and Ethan who is Riley's age. Luke snow plowed way good, but had a hard time stopping himself. He just wanted to go really fast (of course.) (Trevor tried to have Luke snowboard, but they don't make boots that small.) Riley was good at being cautious and stopping herself but just liked to keep her skis parallel. Ethan also skied well. The worst part was finally getting everybody to the Bunny hill when we first started and having Riley say "Mommy, I have to go potty" and back up to the lodge we hiked...Anyway, they both loved skiing and still talk about it. And I don't think there is anything cuter than a little kid on skis. My mom picked up the kids at half day and Trev, my sister and I got to finish the day skiing without them. It was freezing cold and I'm still sore, but it was a blast!

PiNk PaNcAkEs & VaLeNtInE's

For Valentine's Day, I made pink pancakes for breakfast. And no, I didn't just add food coloring, the color came from Beets that I added to them. (straight from the Deceptively Delicious Cookbook). Riley knew they were special pancakes and didn't want to disapoint me so after her first bite she said, "Well, maybe with some more syrup they'll be good." Then she and Luke each ate them like normal. Phew! I was kind of worried about ruining Valentine's Day by putting beets in their pancakes!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope it's a great one! I have to bid farewell to my favorite candy in the world (since I wouldn't let myself stock up on them because I've eaten probably 10 bags this year!)... The Gobstopper Valentine Hearts! Until we meet again next year... sniff sniff...

Thanks!

By the way, thanks to everyone who left nice little B-day Blogging messages! That was sweet. I had a great B-day and am now a lot closer to buying a new Canon Rebel XTi Camera! Yay!

Aprons Don't Get any Cuter Than This!

Check out this Apron Pattern. I've been looking for a good apron pattern for awhile now and I've finally found it! I've already ordered the pattern if anyone wants to come over and have a sewing night and try to figure this out. Pretty sure my Mom is going to have to help me a bit. It's reversible and everything! I'm so excited! I found it at http://www.montessoribyhand.net and it's on www.etsy.com.

Can you believe I'm Blogging?

I've been horrible at blogging lately. I will try to do better. I had some issues where opening my blog with internet explorer made everything crazy on my page. I think it was a glitch in my background. These new backgrounds are great (just click on the orange stripe on top of my blog to get one for yourself), but they do erase videos, play lists, and blog archives when you load them. So make sure you copy and paste that stuff somewhere to put back on after. I changed to a new background so hopefully you can see my page now.

Riley's Valentines

Riley and I made some cute heart shaped play dough valentine's for her Preschool class. It was so cute how she carefully wrote her name on each tage. It was a lot of fun and she asks everyday how many days are left until she gets to give them out. Here is the play dough recipe we used. It is good stuff!

Playdough:
3 Cups of white flour
1 1/2 Cups of salt
1 1/2 Tablespoons of cream of tartar
3 1/4 Cups of water
6 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
Red food coloring
Rolling pin
1. Mix the flour, salt, and cream of tartar in a medium saucepan.

2. In a separate bowl, mix the liquids, adding drops of food coloring until you reach your desired shade.

3. Pour the liquid over the dry ingredients and stir. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture holds together and gets too stiff to stir (it will stiffen even more as it cools), about 5 to 10 minutes. Let it cool.

Luke Sleeping

Luke requires so much sleep still at age 2 1/2. I'm not complaining about his 3 hour naps everyday, but sometimes when you just need to go somewhere after 1PM, it gets kind of tricky. Ever Sunday we have to scoop him off the floor sound asleep in nursery and in these pics he is practically standing up asleep and sitting straight up asleep. I think there are definitely some Trevor genes in him.

Luke The Lion

Anyone who knows Luke knows he is obsessed with jungle animals. But lately, it's all about lions. He got this lion tail for Christmas as part of a tag game where you pull each others tails off. He wears this lion tail as part of his everyday attire EVERY DAY. Then he runs around the house with his big RAAAAR and tries to knock you over and pretend he's eating you. Don't even ask how we manage to keep it on in his car seat or how he sleeps with it in bed. And if he loses it, watch out! I can't count how many times I've gone back to a store where he's lost it or had to climb through the McDonald's playground until we found it. I need to buy a few more to keep on hand.

Tagged!!

Okay, I've been Tagged on this twice now and haven't posted forever, so here it goes:

Tagged!!A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.B. Each player answers the questions about themselves.C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people, and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged, and asking them to read your blog.

10 years ago: I was almost 16, A Sophomore in High school and, like my friend Becky put it, just trying to keep ourselves entertained in good old Bear Lake by doing dumb things. We were sneaking into Ideal Beach just to sit in the hot tub, going to Ream's Mansion at least once a week just to freak ourselves out, jumping into the Lake when it's freezing cold outside, and doing a lot of weird things my husband still doesn't quite understand. It was this year that I became friends with my best friends still today.

5 things on my to do list today:
1. Make Play Dough and Cupcakes for Primary Activity Days
2. Take Riley to School and Dance
3. Run errands
4. Clean the house (You should see it after the play dough)
5. Make Valentine's with Riley

Things I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire:
1. Go buy a house! Actually buy a few houses, one for sure on a beach somewhere...
2. Buy a house and car for all my family and friends
3. Start a great Savings plan for my kids
4. Travel the world with Trevor
5. Buy an Audi TT
6. Do a whole lot of shopping!!

3 of my bad habits:
1. Biting my nails
2. Shopping (Online and in Stores)
3. Making really fattening treats like Applesauce Cookies and eating them all within a couple days since Trevor doesn't eat many sweets, oh yeah, and because I'm a pig.

5 Places I have lived:
1. Bear Lake
2. Chappaqua, NY
3. Logan, UT
4. Chandler, AZ and Maricopa, AZ
5. Brigham City, UT

5 Jobs I have had:

1. Ice Bagger and Deliverer
2. Nanny in New York for the Summer
3. Old Grist Mill Sandwich Maker
4. Blush Floral Shop Flower Arranger. Loved this Job!
5. Landfill Scalehouse Attendant (Basically charging people to dump their crap...Actually one of the best jobs)

Things most people don't know about me: I get instant hiccups when I eat bread or drink Soda, When I was 4 I fell out of my 2- story bedroom window and caught myself on the way down, I sometimes have weird dreams that come true, I have a love-hate relationship with scrap booking, and that's about all I can come up with. Sorry, I'm not that mysterious.

I tag: Any blogger I know that hasn't already been tagged!
